Mutfwang Swears In New Appointees, Charges Them on Effective Service Delivery

Plateau State Governor, His Excellency, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, urged newly appointed Special Adviser and Honorary Special Advisers to demonstrate integrity, professionalism and commitment to delivering effective governance and improving the lives of citizens.

The Governor gave the charge on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, during the swearing-in ceremony at Victoria Gowon Hall, New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos. He described public office as a solemn responsibility that requires sacrifice, accountability and dedication to the collective interest of the state.

Governor Mutfwang explained that the appointments were designed to strengthen governance, improve policy formulation and implementation, and bring additional expertise into the administration. He urged the appointees to provide practical, evidence-based advice and develop workable solutions to challenges confronting the state.

He cautioned against personal interests, unhealthy rivalries and actions capable of undermining teamwork, stressing that the success of the administration depended on shared responsibility, constructive engagement and loyalty to the people of Plateau State.

Reaffirming his administration’s priorities, the Governor identified peace and security as paramount, highlighting efforts to strengthen Operation Rainbow, promote community-based security initiatives and train approximately 1,500 personnel. He also emphasised ongoing interventions in healthcare, education, agriculture, energy, water supply, sanitation, transportation and road infrastructure, particularly in rural and underserved communities.

Expressing concern over the fresh attack in Gyero village, Jos South Local Government Area, Governor Mutfwang called on residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information to prevent further attacks. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to restoring peace, rebuilding affected communities and protecting lives and property across the state.

The Governor further urged the appointees to remain accessible to the public and responsive to the needs of women, young people, farmers, entrepreneurs and vulnerable groups. He charged them to translate the administration’s vision into measurable results, declaring that the time was now to strengthen institutions, accelerate development and deliver purposeful leadership across Plateau State.

Speaking on behalf of the appointees, the Chairman of the Plateau State House of Assembly Service Commission, Rt. Hon. Titus Alams, expressed appreciation to the Governor for the confidence reposed in them, assuring him that they would not take the opportunity to serve for granted.

Alams acknowledged the contributions of the State APC Chairman, the Secretary to the Government of the State, the Head of Service and the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly. He also appreciated the spouses and families of the appointees for their support, pledging that the appointees would work towards advancing the administration’s objectives and leaving a positive legacy.
