Tinubu Hails Soludo’s Victory, Describes Him as a Visionary Leader

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, on his re-election victory, describing it as a resounding affirmation of the governor’s visionary and result-oriented leadership. Tinubu, in a statement released from the Presidential Villa, commended Soludo for what he called an impressive record of performance and commitment to good governance, which has earned him the overwhelming trust and mandate of the people of Anambra State for a second term in office. He noted that the victory was a demonstration of confidence in Soludo’s leadership style and the tangible development strides recorded across key sectors of the state’s economy.

The President particularly praised Soludo’s approach to governance, highlighting his application of academic principles, fiscal prudence, and innovative ideas to public administration. According to Tinubu, Soludo’s intellectual depth and technocratic experience have brought about a refreshing brand of leadership that blends knowledge with compassion, accountability, and transparency. He commended the governor for deploying his expertise as an economist and former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor to drive inclusive growth and development in Anambra. Tinubu noted that under Soludo’s leadership, the state has become a model of disciplined governance and a shining example of how knowledge can be effectively translated into impactful public service.

President Tinubu also extended his appreciation to the people of Anambra State, the security agencies, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ensuring that the just-concluded election was peaceful, credible, and transparent. He described the conduct of the polls as a sign that Nigeria’s democratic institutions are maturing and that the people are beginning to place performance and accountability above ethnic or partisan considerations. The President noted that Soludo’s re-election makes him only the third governor in Anambra’s history to secure a second term, underscoring the depth of public trust and satisfaction with his administration’s performance.

Recalling his visit to Anambra earlier in the year, President Tinubu spoke glowingly of the projects executed by the Soludo administration, describing them as “remarkable and indelible.” He said the visit gave him firsthand insight into the governor’s developmental vision and the tangible progress being made across the state, from infrastructure and education to entrepreneurship and security. According to him, Soludo has proven that with discipline, creativity, and collaboration, governance can indeed transform lives and communities. Tinubu expressed confidence that Anambra State, under Soludo’s continued leadership, would further consolidate its reputation as the “Light of the Nation.”

In his closing remarks, President Tinubu urged Governor Soludo to be magnanimous in victory and to extend a hand of fellowship to his political opponents in the spirit of unity and progress. He called on the governor to continue to deliver people-oriented policies that uplift citizens and strengthen institutions. The President also reaffirmed the Federal Government’s readiness to continue partnering with the Anambra State Government in areas of mutual interest, particularly in promoting industrialization, infrastructure development, and human capital growth. He concluded by wishing Governor Soludo greater wisdom, strength, and divine guidance as he embarks on his second term journey to consolidate the gains already achieved in Anambra State.
