Tinubu Torch Bearers Inaugurate Plateau Coordinators, Lead Campaign for Tinubu, Mutfwang’s Re-election

The inauguration of the Tinubu Torch Bearers, Plateau State Chapter, has brought together political leaders, women leaders, government officials and stakeholders in a renewed commitment to grassroots mobilisation, women’s participation and the promotion of the Renewed Hope Agenda. The event also provided an opportunity for leaders to highlight government interventions, encourage responsible political engagement and charge members of the support group with the responsibility of taking the message of hope and development to communities across the state, while mobilising support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang in 2027.

Representing the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, the Deputy Governor, Her Excellency, Ngo Josephine Piyo, congratulated the leadership and members of the Tinubu Torch Bearers on their inauguration. She described the initiative as an opportunity to promote responsible leadership, democratic participation, national unity and development, noting that political support must be accompanied by a responsibility to improve the lives of the people. Consequently, she urged members to make the organisation a platform for positive political engagement, grassroots mobilisation, civic education and community development, while promoting peaceful participation and rejecting violence, hate speech, misinformation and divisive politics.

Similarly, the wife of the Executive Governor and Grand Patron of the Plateau State Tinubu Torch Bearers, Her Excellency, Barr. Helen Mutfwang, described the inauguration as a commitment by Plateau women to take the Renewed Hope Agenda to the grassroots. She appreciated the national leadership of the Tinubu Torch Bearers for extending the initiative to Plateau State and commended the state government for supporting women’s mobilisation, including the provision of an 18-seater Coaster bus to the APC State Women Leader. She also highlighted various interventions of the Renewed Hope Initiative targeted at women and vulnerable groups. Building on this, she charged the Torch Bearers to take the message of government’s achievements to their communities, sensitise and mobilise voters ahead of 2027, and support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang to consolidate ongoing development efforts.

Adding his voice, the Plateau State APC Chairman, Hon. Rufus Bature, described the newly inaugurated members as leaders who would carry the message of the Renewed Hope Agenda to the grassroots. He recalled Plateau State’s role in the previous presidential campaign and urged members to build on those gains by remaining committed to the APC and supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang and other party candidates in 2027. While acknowledging the challenges associated with ongoing reforms, he expressed confidence in their eventual positive impact and called on the Torch Bearers to educate the people, mobilise voters and collaborate with other APC support groups for a united and successful campaign.

In the same vein, the APC Zonal Women Leader, North Central, Dr. Esther Samuel Alu, commended the Plateau State Government and the APC State Women Leader for their strong mobilisation of women and support for party activities. She described the Tinubu Torch Bearers as a support group aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and appreciated the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for promoting women’s participation and mobilisation across the country. She also praised Governor Mutfwang for providing a bus to support the activities of the APC State Women Leader and urged Plateau women to remain united, committed and active in grassroots mobilisation.

Furthermore, the Plateau State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Caroline Panglang, reaffirmed the commitment of Plateau women to supporting and sustaining the interventions of Senator Oluremi Tinubu through the Renewed Hope Initiative. She noted that the programmes had benefited women, the elderly, persons living with disabilities and other vulnerable groups across the state. She therefore urged women and other stakeholders to return to their communities, mobilise the people and communicate the achievements of the Tinubu and Mutfwang administrations from door to door, stressing the need to begin the mobilisation early and remain united.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser on Gender, Barr. Olivia Daziyam, expressed appreciation to the Plateau State Government for supporting the launch and commended the First Lady of Plateau State for championing the initiative. She assured the national leadership that Plateau women would take the Renewed Hope message to the grassroots, mobilise women and communities, and work towards the success of the APC and its candidates in 2027. She further appreciated the interventions of the First Lady of Nigeria in Plateau State and pledged the support of Plateau women towards the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang and other APC candidates.

Meanwhile, the Plateau State APC Women Leader, Hon. Longret Tokden, expressed gratitude for the successful inauguration and appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for prioritising women in the Renewed Hope Agenda. She commended Governor Mutfwang for creating opportunities for women in his administration, including appointing women to key positions, and acknowledged the continuous support and empowerment provided by the First Lady of Plateau State. She also thanked the Deputy Governor, APC State Chairman, North Central Women Leader, FCT Women Leader and other dignitaries for their support and presence, describing the occasion as a demonstration of unity and commitment to the advancement of women and the APC in Plateau State.

Overall, the inauguration underscored a shared commitment among Plateau political and women leaders to strengthen grassroots mobilisation, promote women’s participation and sustain the gains of government interventions. With the Torch Bearers now inaugurated, the leaders charged members to take the message to every community, engage the people constructively and work collectively to mobilise broad support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang in 2027, alongside other APC candidates.
