Sunday Garba Biggs Gains Momentum as Northern PDP Leaders Endorse Consultative Approach

Hon. Sunday Garba Biggs, a frontline governorship aspirant in Plateau State, on Tuesday, May 20, 2026, convened a strategic interactive session with executives and key stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the Northern Zone of the state.

The engagement, held at Lamonde Hotel, attracted PDP local government chairmen, party secretaries, youth and women leaders, alongside other influential stakeholders from across the zone. Addressing participants during the meeting, Hon. Sunday Garba Biggs formally reiterated his intention to contest for the governorship of Plateau State, stating that his aspiration is inspired by a sincere commitment to reposition the state and improve the welfare of its citizens.

He noted that his extensive experience serving within the Plateau State Government House has exposed him to the realities of governance and equipped him with the administrative capacity required to provide effective leadership and good governance for the people of Plateau State.

According to the governorship hopeful, the state is in need of visionary leadership built on competence, inclusiveness, peacebuilding, and sustainable development that will positively impact every sector of society.

Hon. Biggs further assured party stakeholders of his respect for the existing zoning arrangement in the state, emphasizing that his ambition is strictly to complete the remaining four years meant for the Plateau Central Zone. He explained that the meeting was organized to engage party faithful, seek consultations, and solicit the support and counsel of critical stakeholders ahead of the political process.

Speaking on security, the aspirant highlighted the importance of leveraging technology and digital innovations to tackle insecurity and strengthen peace across Plateau communities. He maintained that adopting modern security approaches would significantly improve safety and stability within the state.

In their separate remarks, party leaders and stakeholders expressed support for the aspiration of Hon. Sunday Garba Biggs. The PDP Youth Leader in Bassa LGA, Pam Bot, called for increased youth participation in governance and pledged his backing for the aspirant’s vision. Likewise, the PDP Women Leader in Bassa LGA, Mrs. Sansanatu Audu, declared her support, describing Hon. Biggs as a leader with the capacity and vision to transform Plateau State.

Also speaking at the gathering, the Chairman of PDP Chairmen in Bassa LGA, Sunday Ngwe, described Hon. Sunday Garba Biggs as a credible, experienced, and capable politician with the qualities necessary to lead Plateau State toward greater development and progress.

The meeting concluded successfully, with stakeholders applauding the aspirant for his wide consultations and proactive engagement with party members ahead of the 2027 governorship race.
