CHIEF JERRY GUSHOP CELEBRATES GOVERNOR CALEB MUTFWANG ON 3 YEARS OF IMPACTFUL AND UNBEATABLE LEADERSHIP

The Plateau State Potato Value Chain Support Project, under the leadership of Project Coordinator Chief Dr. Jerry Gushop, has congratulated His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang on the successful completion of three impactful years in office.

In a congratulatory message, Chief Dr. Gushop, speaking on behalf of the management and staff, commended the Governor’s visionary leadership and commitment to agricultural transformation, rural infrastructure, and inclusive governance which have positioned Plateau as a model for sustainable growth.

Highlighting project achievements under the Governor Mutfwang’s administration, Dr. Gushop noted:
1. Establishment of a world class Potato Tissue Culture Laboratory for quality, high yield and disease resistant seed production, the largest and best in Africa
2. Construction of 118.4km rural access roads, culverts and erosion controls to improve access to markets
3. Establishment of 9 community markets and 9 diffuse light stores for storage to ensure coordinated market and reduce post harvest loss to farmers
4. Procurement and distribution of 700 water pumps, construction of 17 spring captures, and 22 water harvesting structures to aid irrigation farming across Plateau
5. Establishment of 3 processing centers, one each in Barkin Ladi, Bokkos and Mangu local government areas to add value to the potato commodity value chain

    6 Construction of 500            wash bores in areas of limited access to surface water in order to promote even opportunity for all year round farming across Plateau State.

He stated that these achievements reflect the Governor’s unwavering support for food security, rural empowerment, and poverty reduction.

Chief Jerry Gushop has also congratulated the governor on his overwhelming victory in the just concluded APC primaries emerging as the standard party flag bearer for the 2027 general elections, also wishing him subsequent victory.

The Project team prayed for God’s wisdom, strength, and good health upon the Governor as he continues to steer Plateau State toward greater peace and prosperity.
